The Wheaten Health Endowment* was started in 2001 as the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Endowment, Inc., by the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America, Inc. (“SCWTCA”). In 2014, we received 501c3 status from the IRS.
GuideStar, a premier database of information on nonprofit organizations, provides profiles on groups and evaluates their levels of transparency. Less than five percent of non-profits registered with GuideStar are recognized with a Gold Seal. A Gold Seal status is the leading symbol of non-profit transparency and accountability. The Gold Seal means SCWTCA Endowment Inc. has published qualitative information about our goals, strategies, and vision.
In 2018, the Endowment was honored to earn a Bronze Seal. In 2019-2021, we earned Silver Seals. 2021 and 2022, the Endowment achieved Gold Seals from GuideStar and Candid. In 2023, the Endowment earned the Gold Seal from GuideStar Candid.
